TUBULAR STRANDER ELECTRONIC LAY RETROFIT SPEC SHEET
Bartell Machinery now offers a complete package for the retrofitting of an existing line shaft driven tubular strander into a electronic lay style tubular strander. This package gives the operator and the machine greater flexibility for ever changing production needs. The lay range of the electronic lay package is much greater than that of the original machine, and can be adjusted on the fly in very small increments within the maximum and minimum limits. Product change-over time is greatly reduced due to the fact that there are no change gears, or capstan directional gears to change for each product type. Maintenance and downtime concerns are minimized because of the removal of many obsolete moving parts. This offer may also be combined with any rebuild package, and is not limited to just Bartell manufactured stranders.
The electronic lay retrofit package includes the following:
- Removal of line shafts, change gear box, capstan box, pulleys, belts, and existing operator controls.
- The barrel is driven by an AC motor and drive.
- A capstan box that is independent from the barrel is driven by an AC motor and drive.
- A user programmable controller, which links the barrel and capstan, is supplied for the entry of the desired lay length.
- S (left) or Z (right) lay direction via a selector switch.
