TRAVERSE RETROFIT KIT SPECIFICATION SHEET

The traverse retrofit kit is a custom stand-alone unit that is designed to be integrated to any size cantilever style take-up or pay-off. The traverse is easily integrateable into the customers machine for emergency stops and fault handling.

STANDARD FEATURES / BENEFITS

• Designed with operator safety in mind, operator no longer needs to handle product or manually traverse the product. This is a hands off operation!
• Improved lay quality over older style traverses.
• Stand-alone operator station, powered by 120Vac.
• Controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC).
• Driven by a Allen Bradley Servo motor coupled to a ball screw arrangement.
• Reversing bar style for directional control.
• End of travel limit switches prevent damage to machine.
• E-stop bumper switch runs the length of the traverse for operator safety.
• Adjustable for cable diameters up to 5".
• Encoder for reel feedback and the pause at flange feature is supplied.
• Ease of operation, only three parameters needed for operation; cable diameter, jog speed, pause at flange degrees.
• Functions available: rapid traverse, pause traverse, pause at flange, traverse on/off, fault handling, machine status indicators, reset functionality, and emergency stops.

AVAILABLE OPTIONS

• Custom traverses can be designed for any application or machine style.
• Remote pendant operator stations with features such as e-stop, rapid traverse, pause traverse, set left turn-around point (available with transducer option), set right turn-around point (available with transducer option). Custom pendants available upon request.
• Transducer style traverse. This traverse functions the same as the reversing bar style traverse, with the exception that the turn-around points are sensed by a linear transducer. There is no turn-around limit switch, like the one supplied with the reversing bar style traverse. The turn-around points are calculated by the plc based on one operator entered parameter. The turn-around points are easily adjusted both statically, or on the fly.
• On site set-up, integration, and training of the traverse retrofit kit to customers machine is available.
