DIGITAL BEEHIVE BEAD MEASURING
The Bartell Digital Beehive Bead Sizing Machine is a high production test machine used to determine the inside diameters of tire beads. The capabilities of the Bead Sizing Machine include:
- Bead I.D. Range of 12" to 24" (305-610mm)
- Measures Either Bead Inside Diameter or Inside Circumference
- Weftless (Ribbon) Beads and Single Wire Beads

The digital beehive process cycle is fully automatic, which reduces human error. Inside diameters and inside circumferences are digitally displayed at the operator interface unit and the output feature allows the operator to download to an industrial printer. This feature makes it ideal for ISO 9000 records.
The digital beehive consists primarily of a split-stepped cone ring. The upper half is mounted to the machine frame while the lower half moves up and down on linear rails. The lower half is actuated by a pneumatic cylinder. The operator places the bead on the appropriate beehive nominal step , and inputs the nominal step size at the operator run screen. The bead measurement is taken upon actuation by the operator and the bead internal diameter, or internal circumference, is displayed on the screen.
The process time and calibration set points are adjustable at the operator interface and are password-protected to combine system integrity with calibration ease.
